The Oreocereus trollii, often called the Old Man of the Andes, is a stunning high-altitude cactus native to Bolivia and Argentina. Known for its dense coat of long white woolly spines, this species has evolved to withstand harsh mountain conditions while creating one of the most striking silhouettes in any cactus collection.

These 15–18cm specimens feature healthy established growth with their signature shaggy appearance already developing beautifully. Beneath the soft white covering lies a sturdy columnar cactus that will continue to mature into an impressive sculptural plant over time.

Oreocereus trollii thrives in bright light with excellent drainage and minimal watering, making it a hardy and rewarding addition for collectors of unusual desert plants. In ideal conditions, mature plants may eventually produce vibrant pink to red flowers emerging through the woolly spines.
