“Shepp Purple” or Trichocereus tulhuayensis is a rare and highly ornamental columnar cactus prized for its spectacular floral displays and elegant growth. This species develops tall ribbed columns with short spines and produces masses of vibrant pink flowers that create an incredible contrast against the plant’s skin.

Well regarded among collectors, tulhuayensis is fast growing, hardy, and well suited to Australian conditions when planted in full sun with excellent drainage. Mature specimens become a striking feature in both gardens and large pots, especially when flowering season arrives.
