Cactus Country turned 21 on the 21st of October

The garden has come of age. We celebrated the occasion with birthday cake and there were plenty of flowers for visitors to enjoy. The response to the size of the garden and plants is really amazing people. Even families are taking much longer to follow all the trails around the garden and reading all the information. Can't imagine what it will look like in another 20 years!

Cactus Country was open as part of the Australian Open Garden Scheme on the 26th - 27th of September. Unfortunately the weekend wasn't ideal weather for the visitors, but those who braved it certainly were impressed by the garden.

Producer and director Gardening Australia, James Lipscombe described the garden as “unique and spectacular. I have never seen anything like this anywhere,” he said. “When we arrived we were pretty shocked by it, and could really do two stories here.”

After three days of filming the team from Gardening Australia created a six minute segment that can be viewed by clicking on the picture below.
